The Senate special committee to 'examine purported grievances amongst some sections of society and engage with the genuinely aggrieved persons to create national cohesion' met here with Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif and discussed the prevailing situation in the IOK.
Mushal Mallik, the wife of jailed Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, and some other Kashmiri leaders also attended the meeting. They called upon the government of Pakistan to further gear up the efforts in a bid make sure that illegal annexation of Kashmir is in no way acceptable.
They also called upon the nation to come out today (Friday) [12-12:30pm] to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people and send the Kashmiris in IOK a clear message that the entire Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with them and against Indian fascist oppression.
Barrister said, "The policy adopted by the country during the last seventy years was reactionary, and we failed to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to respond to effectively to Indian's approach on Kashmir issue." He said that the time has come that both the Parliament and the government must fulfill their responsibility through an effective strategy to respond to the fascist approach of India.
"The need of the hour is that the issue should be highlighted at international fora through effective diplomacy," he maintained. He said that the whole nation and political leadership are united on Kashmir issue, and there would be no compromise on it.
